G’day — I’m Sam Fryer, a passionate beef producer from North Queensland, Australia. Alongside my wife Emily and our three kids, we run a cattle business on agistment with a shared goal of one day owning our own property.
Since finishing school, I’ve worked across the Australian beef industry and have been fortunate to gain experience in different parts of the country. Along the way, I’ve always enjoyed working with — and learning from — the people who make this industry so special.
It’s their stories, their grit, and their love for the land that inspired us to set our own goal: to one day find a place to call home.
🌾 Our Values
At A Place to Call Home, we believe in the power of stories to connect, inspire, and shape a future grounded in purpose and place. These values guide everything we do — from conversations on the podcast to the community we’re building around it.
🌱 Authenticity
We believe in real stories, raw experiences, and the courage to be vulnerable. This is a space for genuine conversations — no filters, no fluff.
🐮 Connection to Land
Land is more than just country — it’s identity, responsibility, and legacy. We honour the deep connection between people and the places they call home.
🧠 Growth & Grit
The path isn’t always easy — but we celebrate those who keep showing up, keep learning, and keep pushing through. We value resilience, resourcefulness, and the quiet determination it takes to build a life on the land.
🤝 Community & Collaboration
No one builds a future alone. A Place to Call Home is about coming together, backing each other, sharing what we’ve learned, and growing as a collective.
🔥 Legacy & Leadership
We’re not just here for now — we’re building something for the next generation. Whether it’s your first season or your fifteenth, your story matters and your impact lasts.
